Terms of Use

Last updated October 3, 2026

These terms govern use of Genora. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.

Who is who in Genora

A Person is a human represented in Genora and may be living or deceased without having an account. A User or Account Holder is a living person with login credentials. A Member is a User who has accepted access to at least one Family. A Family is a distinct private Genora space containing People, relationships, memories, and other family content. A Family Owner or Admin is a User authorized to manage that Family, its invitations, permissions, billing, and designated administrative functions. A Person Profile and a User Account are not the same thing.

What Genora means by Family

A Family is not limited to one household or one type of relationship. It may include biological, adoptive, step, foster, guardian, blended, and other legitimate family relationships across different homes and locations. A User may participate in more than one Family when authorized.

Family ownership and succession

Subscriptions and primary service access belong to the Family archive rather than each individual Member. A Family Owner may designate primary and backup Legacy Successors. Designation does not grant immediate ownership, account access, or access to restricted content. Any future activation requires a secure verification process and transfers Family stewardship, not the former owner’s login credentials.

Using Genora

You may use Genora only for lawful purposes and only with information you have the right to preserve or share. You are responsible for your account, invitations, family permissions, and the accuracy of content you add.

Family content and ownership

You retain ownership of content you submit. You give Genora the limited permission needed to host, process, display, back up, and deliver that content to authorized users and to provide features you request.

Respecting other people

Do not upload private, copyrighted, harmful, deceptive, or unlawful material without permission. Family owners should obtain appropriate consent before adding sensitive information about another person.

AI-assisted features

AI output may be incomplete or inaccurate. Genora is designed to ground family answers in approved archive content, but users must review results. AI output is not medical, legal, financial, or professional advice.

Accounts and access

Keep your credentials secure. Family owners control invitations and roles. Genora may restrict access when needed to protect users, investigate abuse, comply with law, or maintain service security.

Subscriptions

Genora plans are offered per Family archive. Approved standard pricing is Free at $0, Plus at $7.99 monthly or $79 annually, Family at $14.99 monthly or $149 annually, and Legacy at $29.99 monthly or $299 annually. Confirmed Founding Families receive free lifetime access for their lives, continuing with family members who take over the profile through the applicable succession process. The 60-day study commitment does not expire that free access. Standard paid subscriptions are purchased through secure Stripe checkout after signing in; only the Family Owner can manage the Family subscription. Before purchase, Genora will show price, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms and will follow applicable web or mobile-store rules.

Availability

Genora is evolving and features may change. We work to preserve family content and provide reliable access, but no online service can promise uninterrupted availability. Maintain independent copies of irreplaceable materials.

Ending use

You may stop using Genora and request account deletion. Family ownership and shared content must be resolved before an owner account or shared archive is deleted.

Questions about privacy or deletion can be submitted through the signed-in Settings page.
